According to USA Today, a team of scientific scholars indicates the “doomsday clock” is closer to midnight than any time since 1953 (in the midst of the Cold War with Russia).You see, though most would likely not acknowledge the Biblical basis, even secular scientist are catching up with what the Bible has taught us over thousands of years!

Interestingly, they point to only one person as the cause of the clock moving closer to midnight.

“Never before has the Bulletin decided to advance the clock largely because of the statements of a single person. But when that person is the new president of the United States, his words matter,” David Titley and Lawrence M. Krauss of the Bulletin wrote in an New York Times op-ed.

While I don’t believe God has invested enough power in a single person to bring about the end of the age, I do believe we are living in a “season” of last days.  How do we know?  Jesus Himself taught His disciples what would be the signs of the end of the age.  (See Matthew 24)  The apostle Paul also gave us insight into what the last days would look like. (See 2 Timothy 3)  Indeed, we are seeing false messiahs, worldly chaos, and blatant Godlessness in our world today.

My friends, the signs are clear.  Using their scientific brilliance, even secular scientists are predicting an end to worldly existence as we know it.  Yet, it doesn’t take a brilliant scientist to recognize the last days.  It simply takes basic knowledge and child-like understanding of Scripture to know that Jesus is coming soon!

Keep looking up…our redemption is near.  (Luke 21:28)  And pray for those scientists and others who put their trust in worldly wisdom, rather than in the faithfulness of God.  Meanwhile, let’s use the time we have left to prepare as a Bride awaiting her Bridegroom!
