Decision America Tour: Utah, Nevada, California

Franklin Graham’s Decision America Tour heads west over the next few days for stops in Utah, Nevada, and California.  Franklin is visiting every state in the union to lead a prayer rally at each state capital.  We’re in the midst of a very important election year and, short of an absolute miracle, our choices for president in November will be between two very ungodly candidates.

Our nation needs prayer, but not only at the ballot box.  We are seeing moral decay at the most dramatic levels in history, and our nation (and indeed the world) are spinning out of control.  But, my friends, all is not lost.  No matter the circumstances, and no matter who is in the White House, our Lord Jesus Christ is still King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

But let’s come together to pray for a better America.  Franklin is encouraging Christians to live out their faith at home, in public, and at the ballot box. We need that encouragement!  So, will you join in prayer as we pray for Utah, Nevada, and California over the next three days?

Tuesday, March 29, 2016: Salt Lake City Utah

  • While 79% of people in Utah claim a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, about half the population do not believe the Bible to be the only authoritative Word of God.
  • Only 2% of the population consider themselves evangelical Christians.
  • 48% believe the way to heaven is through good works.

“Lord of love, please rain down your Spirit in the beautiful state of Utah.  You have graced the state with beauty that shouts of Your glory, yet the people of Utah fail to understand who You are.  I pray for an awakening to the Spirit and to the Word of God.  May many come to realize that the Bible is indeed the only authoritative Word of God.  Father, Your Word teaches of Your grace that saves us.  May religions of “works” be found dead and may the Spirit of the Living God bring life as You promise.  Bring about revival in Utah, and turn hearts toward You.  That is our prayer, in the name of the One and Only True God, Jesus Christ.”

Wednesday, March 30, 2016: Carson City Nevada

  • More than half of all Nevadans are unchurched, second only to Vermont.
  • 20% of practicing Christians are not registered to vote, the highest percentage in the country.
  • Only 21% of Nevadans would call themselves born again.

“Father God, in the midst of a state so bound up in the pleasures of man, we pray You will draw hearts of men, women, and children to Yourself in a might way.  So many know so little about the fellowship of believers, and so few dare to even profess themselves to be born again followers of Jesus.  But we know nothing is too difficult for You, Lord!  We pray that You make Yourself known to Nevadans, and that many come to realize a need for You.  In addition, we pray that Christians there will take seriously their privilege of voting.  May Americans nationwide stand up!  God of wonders, please do a work in the state of Nevada.”

Thursday, March 31, 2016: Sacramento California

  • 47% of Californians have never gone to church or have left the church.
  • 66% do not read the Bible.
  • More than 1 in 4 Californians were born in another country, the highest in the nation – a foreign mission field in our own backyard.

“Lord, You have graced California with resources and beauty.  Yet, far too few have a personal relationship with You, the Creator of beauty and the Giver of resources.  Indeed, the harvest is ripe in California, and our prayer is that faithful reapers will tend the harvest.  Please send evangelists and disciplers to the state of California to tell the good news of Jesus Christ.  Father, please give them a yearning to be with God’s people, and an insatiable thirst for Your Word.  May the people of California experience an awakening such has never been seen in the history of mankind.  Spirit, stir in that place and make Yourself known.  Be Lord of Lords in California, and in every state of this great nation.  That is our prayer, in the Name of Jesus!”
