The Untold News about Israel

Yesterday we discussed God’s covenant with Israel.  As you know, God first initiated the covenant with Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3, where he promised land and descendents through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

However, pay close attention to the last phrase of both verse 2 and verse 3:

And I will make you a great nation,
And I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And so you shall be a blessing;
And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.

You see, along with God’s blessings to Abraham and his descendents, there is evidence that God intends Israel to be a blessing to the rest of the world!  Without a doubt, the greatest blessing the world has received is that of the Jewish Messiah…and the opportunity to enter into salvation through Him.  That is indisputable.

However, I suggest that Israel is blessing the world in so many other ways as well.  (See Fun Facts about Israel: Computer Technology and Despite Antisemitism, Israel Rises Up for examples.)  In many respects, Israel has made life a bit better for people all over the world.  Below is an intriguing example (just over 1 minute long).  Enjoy!
