Lord God in heaven, we give thanks to You today for the grace, mercy, love and blessings that You pour out on us.  We give you thanks because You are good and Your love, indeed, endures forever!

Please keep us mindful on this day that it is not about food and football, but about family and friends.  Grant us the grace to reflect the love that You have given us.  Lord, please keep our men and women in uniform safe, and assured of Your love.  

We are thankful for our freedom.  Please bless our leaders with wisdom and our citizens with the will to be respectful. We are thankful for our pastors and spiritual mentors.  May we be faithful to express our gratitude.  

Most of all, we are thankful to You, Lord Jesus, for coming to this earth to sacrifice Your life that we might live.  Please reveal Yourself to our loved ones who don’t yet know You, or who are not committed to You.  Your Word teaches that Your return could be any day. May eyes be opened and hearts be open and yearning for You.

We offer thanks in the name and the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!  Amen
