Diplomats are globe trotting, politicians are lobbying one another, and the world awaits a very critical decision by US Congress. What’s at issue? Whether or not the Iran Nuclear Deal will be ratified. Following the agreement reached July 14, 2015, US Congress has 60 days to evaluate and then vote on whether or not to accept the deal. President Obama has already vowed to veto the decision if it is rejected. In order to overturn a veto, 2/3 majority votes in both the House and the Senate are required. At the moment, that seems impossible. In order to reach that threshold, several from Obama’s own party must cross the line.
Thus, diplomats are globe trotting and politicians are lobbying one another! In addition, discussion is going on in the public arena, including the internet, many in efforts to sway Congress to vote the “right” way.
Now the Clarion Project has produced a series of videos related to the Iran Nuclear Deal. Some feature world leaders such as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presenting evidence of the “bad deal,” some are parodies of world leaders while negotiating the agreement, and some are clips from various press conferences by world leaders. As Congress considers the deal, let’s consider the direction the deal might take.
Here is the first video, Say ‘No’ to a Nuclear Iran:
