Hi friends…and welcome back!
Many churches today are teaching that, because Israel has rejected God, God has rejected Israel and the church has become the “new Israel.” That false theology is often called “Replacement Theology,” and it elevates the church today to the place Israel holds in God’s eyes. It simply is not true!
In fact, one of my favorite passages indicating God’s steadfast and never-ending love for Israel is found in Jeremiah 31:35-36:
Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for light by day
And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar;
The Lord of hosts is His name:
“If this fixed order departs
From before Me,” declares the Lord,
“Then the offspring of Israel also will cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”
Just as certain as the sun shines, the moon and stars show up, and the sea roars, God will preserve Israel forever! True, God loves us…His children…with an everlasting love. But that does not mean He has abandoned Israel! God definitely has a plan for Israel, just as He has a plan for us as believers, and even for those who don’t believe. (That’s not such a good plan!)
We know that Jesus has not, and will not, forget His chosen people! Romans 15 clearly tells us that Jesus became a servant of the circumcision (the Jewish people) to confirm all the promises given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus did not come to annihilate those promises but to affirm them! Take a look at Jesus and Israel’s Calling:
Rejoice! God is a faithful God who does not forget His promises!
