70 Years After the Holocaust, Israel and Germany Celebrate 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations

Today, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin attended a ceremony on Platform 17 of Grunewald Station (Berlin Germany) where tens of thousands of Jews were loaded on rail cars headed for death camps during the Holocaust.  The ceremony commemorated 50 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel, and was also headlined by German President Joachim Gauck.

Both dignitaries acknowledged strong German-Israeli ties and jointly denounced anti-Semitism.  I encourage you to read the account here, and rejoice that the Almighty God of the Universe could cause such unity between nations who, by all accounts, should have “reason” not to join in unity.

Pray for this kind of unity with other nations as you pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
