Not surprisingly, the deadline for world powers to construct a “framework” for a nuclear deal with Iran has passed without an agreement. And as suspected, the deadline means absolutely nothing, as negotiators remain in Switzerland (on their countries’ tax dollars) to continue fruitless talks with Iran.
It now appears that the P5+1 (US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany) will set their sites on the June 30 deadline, by which they are to have a full agreement or cease negotiations. My question is: if they can’t come to agreement by March 31, what makes us believe they will reach one by June 30? Negotiations have been going on for 2 years already.
From the perspective of many (including mine), it appears that the Obama administration is so hungry for a “legacy” deal that they will bend to whatever degree necessary to appear as peacemakers. Not only are they dangerously close to allowing Iran to become a nuclear power, but they are also hellbent on figuring out how to come to a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians as well. Both are storms on the horizon for Israel who strives to survive as the only freedom-loving democracy in the Middle East.
Bible prophecy is clear that Israel will stand alone in the last days, and should the Obama administration succeed in their “peace legacy” ambitions, it may happen sooner than later. Yes, Bible prophecy will come to pass, but woe to us if it happens on our watch! That is why I urge all believers to pray fervently for a revival in our land. We need Christians who will stand up and take a stand with Israel. We need leaders who will lead us in the ways of the Lord. We need churches that are committed to serving and protecting their flocks. Let’s be prayer warriors!
As for the current negotiations, it is anyone’s guess how long dignitaries will carry out this charade, but one thing is for certain: every moment Iran can drag it out is another moment they can spin centrifuges and continue development of their nuclear ambitions. Rather than bash our president and his team, let’s speak honestly and truthfully about what is right and wrong, and let’s pray that the God of the universe will turn his heart toward righteousness and justice!
The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord;
He turns it wherever He wishes.
Every man’s way is right in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the hearts.
To do righteousness and justice
Is desired by the Lord more than sacrifice.
