Stand and See the Salvation of the Lord!

“Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s. …You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf. …Do not fear or be dismayed…for the Lord is with you.”
~2 Chronicles 20:15, 17

While President Obama says “ISIL is not Islamic,” Jordan’s King Abdullah (a Muslim himself) states, “This is a Muslim problem.  We need to take ownership of it.”  While the Bible offers grace, mercy, and salvation, the Qur’an teaches followers to kill infidels.  While God so loved the whole world that He gave His only Son in order that all might be saved, Muhammad led the charge in fulfilling the Qur’anic admonition to kill.  While Christian eschatology tells us that Jesus is coming back to redeem His own, Islamic eschatology (particularly Shia Islam) seems to indicate that violence will usher in a worldwide caliphate that will be ruled with the iron fist of Sharia law.

Make no mistake, what we are witnessing is a “religious” war, pitting the life and teachings of Jesus Christ against that of Muhammad.  Or, more accurately, this is a battle between good and evil.  Radical Islamic terrorist groups such as ISIS, Hamas, Hezbollah, Boko Haram, and others clearly function under the influence of Satan himself.  Their acts are Satanic, their thoughts are Satanic, and their theology is Satanic.

But take courage, dear friends!  Satan has a known enemy (God Himself!), and he knows that Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead secured victory forevermore for those who put their trust in Him.  (1 Peter 1)  Satan also knows that his only domain is on earth, and that his days are numbered.  Thus, he is unleashing evil in every way possible before Jesus comes to rescue His children and throw Satan’s domain into utter chaos and destruction.  Satan’s goal is to drag as many people as possible to hell with him, and he chooses to work his evil through those who will allow him to do so.

But as believers, we do not have to fear or be dismayed.  No matter how diabolic evil grows, the battle is not ours, but the Lord’s!  We station ourselves, we stand, and we see the salvation of the Lord.  Mark 13:7 says:  When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened.  Why?  Because though these are signs of the last days, He is faithful to His children!

So, we may not settle the issue of whether or not ISIS is Islamic, and we may disagree about end times theology.  But, if you are a true follower of Jesus Christ, your salvation is settled, and the victory is won!  Do not fear or be dismayed.

If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, there IS much to fear.  Please don’t pass the opportunity by, as you never know if it will be your last.  Jesus is waiting to hear from you.  Click here to find out how to know Him personally.  Your eternal life depends upon it.  God bless!
