In the wake of the European Union’s decision on Wednesday to remove Hamas from the terrorist list, Hamas once again showed its true colors on Friday when a rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel.  This year alone, over 4,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israel; and since Israel pulled out of the Gaza Strip in 2005, over 15,000 rockets have whistled into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) identified the launch sites of Friday’s rocket as “terror infrastructure belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas,” and successfully eliminated at least two targets.

On Saturday morning, Hamas supporters staged a demonstration on Temple Mount, where Arab groups waved a Hamas banner and shouted pro-Hamas slogans.  (See 30-second video clip here.)

Meanwhile, following the 50-day conflict in Gaza this summer, in which dozens of terror tunnels from Gaza to Israel were found, cement and other building materials were sent into the Gaza Strip in an effort to rebuild private homes and other buildings damaged or destroyed in the conflict.  However, an unidentified Palestinian informant has reported to the Jerusalem Post that Hamas is using some of those supplies to repair and rebuild its tunnel infrastructure.  Their goal: infiltrate Israel and conduct terrorist attacks on innocent civilians.

If that wasn’t enough, consider these facts from the Hamas charter:

• Hamas does not want peace with Israel, it wants to destroy Israel and commit Jewish genocide. (From the charter:  “Israel will exist…until Islam will obliterate it…. . The day of judgement will not come about until the Moslems fight the Jews, when the Jews hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.”)
• Hamas does not believe in peace conferences.  (From the charter: Initiative and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction of the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement…There is no solution to the Palestinian question except through jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”)
• Hamas is an off shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood and shares their enthusiasm for “death for the sake of Allah.”  (From the charter: Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution, jihad is it’s path, and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.”)

So, consider the evidence for yourself.  Is Hamas truly a “resistance movement,” which they label themselves, or are they actually a terrorist organization?  When Hamas recruits children to fight Israel, trains them in the use of automatic weapons, brainwashes them to believe blatant lies, and sends them out to kill, something is dramatically wrong!  When Hamas uses women and children as human shields, something is dramatically wrong!  When governing bodies look at all this and call it good, something is dramatically wrong!
