Prayer Time: Mike Huckabee and Tucker Carlson to Meet Today in Israel

As indicated yesterday, US Ambassador Mike Huckabee more or less challenged the controversial (supposedly) conservative pundit, Tucker Carlson, to sit down and discuss rising tensions. Carlson has become very outspoken in pressing forward antisemitic rhetoric and insinuating that Christians are mistreated in Israel, while being honored in neighboring countries.

Carlson’s antisemitic streak went on full display when he interviewed and seemed to agree with avowed antisemite, Nick Fuentes in October 2025. Recently, he traveled to Jordan to interview an Anglican Archbishop of Jerusalem who happens to be Palestinian, and a Jordanian Christian businessman. He opened the videotaped interview (which you can watch here) claiming there are “far fewer” Christians in Israel than in 1948, and that Christians are being mistreated in Israel. (A quick bit of fact-checking proves the Christian population in Israel has grown by at least 125% since 1948, and Christians have more freedom in Israel than anywhere else in the Middle East.)

Not that I fully endorse The Times of Israel, or this particular blogger, but Yosef Eiten wrote this piece outlining the many ways Carlson steered and cajoled the interviewees in the direction he seemed to want to take them. Namely, pro-Jordan and Middle East and anti-Israel. Having viewed the interview more than once, I generally agree with the assessments made by Eiten. Nonetheless, I encourage you to watch the video yourself and come to your own conclusions.

So, today’s news…Tucker Carlson is scheduled to fly into Ben Gurion airport and sit for an interview with Ambassador Huckabee, a staunch Christian and supporter of Israel (on Biblical grounds). During the aforementioned interviews and others, Carlson has invoked Huckabee in adversarial ways and has made unfounded accusations regarding Huckabee’s motives and actions. In response, Mike Huckabee said,

“I figure instead of him talking about me, he should talk to me. …we do not change the narrative by being silent in the face of misinformation. We change the narrative by pushing back. Silence is agreement. It is why some of the horrific things in history have happened. Because people were silent in the face of blood libels and lies.”

Thus, the interview.

Despite spending enough time in Jordan to look around and find a great spot with lots of churches, then conducting long-form interviews with an archbishop from Jerusalem and a Jordanian businessman speaking as a Christian, Tucker Carlson reportedly will not even leave Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, despite invitations from the Christian community in Israel. Apparently, the two men will meet at the airport to conduct their interview, then Tucker Carlson will jump back on his private jet and fly back to Europe.

Unfortunately, Tucker Carlson is a “face” of the conservative movement in America, and has professed faith in Christ. Let’s not judge his standing with the Lord, as only God knows a man’s heart. However, antisemitism has no place in America, and certainly no place in the life of a Christian. As believers, we should hold to conservative, Biblical values and those are not being represented by Tucker Carlson.

Believing friends, will you commit to pray today? Ask the Lord to grant wisdom and grace to Mike Huckabee as he defends Biblical values. May his words be seasoned with grace but carry the weight of righteousness that God desires. Let’s pray that Huckabee represents Christ first and honors God in his discussion with Tucker Carlson. Finally, pray for Carlson. His eyes need to be open to the truth, and whatever pride might prop him up needs to fade away. Pray for a breakthrough, pray that God is glorified, and pray that truth goes out like a roaring lion.
