Friends, I was very excited to hear that Pilgrimage Road, leading from the Pool of Siloam in the City of David to the southern steps of Temple Mount, was finally inaugurated a few days ago! If you have been to Israel in the last few years, perhaps you are as excited as I am about the discoveries made at the City of David.
The city was home to King David in Israel’s early history, and it sits south of Temple Mount, down a rather steep hill. Several years ago, a passage was discovered, and it turns out to be the main pathway early temple pilgrims would have used after cleansing themselves in what appears to be a public pool, before presenting themselves at the temple.
The City of David has become a “must see” tour stop, and the opening of Pilgrimage Road makes the site all the more exciting. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee were on hand for the unveiling of the entire pathway to the public.
Here is what All Israel News had to say:
Friends, if your love of Israel causes a longing to go there, stay tuned! I hope to make some announcements about that in the coming weeks!
