Hope is a miraculous thing. Without it there is no life, but with it there is life eternal. Hope revealed in the midst of despair is a lifeline, and that lifeline reaches to the depths of a human soul to save it. We all need hope, and those of us upon whom hope has manifested itself have an obligation to share it with others!
Hope has no borders. For those of us who love and stand with Israel, it is often difficult to envision the hope of God waiting to rise up in Palestinians, Iranians or other groups we might stereotype as terrorists. Yet, our God is so vast and so sovereign, so loving and so kind, that His love reaches beyond all barriers and boundaries! (And not all Palestinians and Iranians are terrorists!)
Believe it or not, God is moving in tremendous ways among Iranian people. It is one of the fastest growing Christian populations in the world, yet we don’t hear about it. As an example, check out this Iranian man’s testimony:
This man found the God of Hope…Jesus Christ!
Scripture says:
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
~Romans 15:13But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
~1 Peter 3:15
Once filled with the joy and peace of Christ, we abound in hope! Once we abound in hope, we make ourselves ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us.
Yes, there is hope for Iranians and that man found it! He is ready to give a reason for the hope that is in him, and I pray that many Iranians are similarly ready. Are you ready?
