One of God’s admonitions to us as believers is to stand with Israel. But why is it so important?

1. God’s Word commands us to! Passages such as Genesis 12:3, Ezekiel 33, Isaiah 62 and Psalm 122 exhort us to bless, support and pray for Israel. If God’s command was the ONLY reason to stand with Israel, it would be enough.
2. Israel and the body of Christ share a heritage. Both are called to be God’s witnesses (Isaiah 43:10, Acts 1:8). Just as worthy heritage glues and earthly family together, so our Godly heritage glues us together as a spiritual family.
3. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, fighting for similar values that we hold as Christians.
4. Israel has blessed us with the Messiah, God’s Word, the prophets, the apostles and so much more.
5. Israel blesses the world every day with innovative technology, intelligence and inventions. They are a nation worthy of support, and they are a tremendous ally of the US.

God stands with them, so why shouldn’t we!?! Take 2 minutes to enjoy the enthusiasm of those who do. Then look for ways to express your support for our spiritual cousins!
