The Impact of Growing Antisemitism on the Right

We pick up where we left off yesterday. There is alarming growth of antisemitism on the right, but what impact is it having on the national scene? Potentially, a lot.

Major personalities such as Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens and others have poisoned social media airwaves with subtle or not-so-subtle bites of pure antisemitism. (See examples in yesterday’s post.) It impacts conservatives as a whole, and government officials as well.

For example, the White House Advisory Board of Lay Leaders just added two Islamic jihadists to their ranks. That is dangerous business. America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles that are at 180-degree odds with Islam. It is bad for America, and it legitimizes a religious cult that hates both Israel and America.

Now…what about Trump’s triumphant trot through the Middle East? First, one has to hand it to President Trump. He is able to accomplish more in a short time than any other president in history. Secondly, it is impressive when he can get Arab leaders to contribute so generously to the American economy. In principle, I am guardedly optimistic.

What concerns me is that countries such as Syria and Qatar are being offered the fruits of the Abraham Accord, yet neither has proven to be a worthy ally of Israel and America. Qatar is Iran’s greatest financial source of support to terrorists, and they have totally poisoned America’s universities by bankrolling Islamic ideology. Why should Qatar be allowed into the benefits of the Abraham Accords? Also, will they recognize Israel’s right to exist in their land? That should remain a prerequisite to any nation being invited into the AA’s.

Syria is another questionable invitee. Their new president, Abu Mohammad al-Julani (now known as Ahmed al-Sharaa), had a $10 million bounty on his head until only a few weeks ago! Why? Because he was a rebel commander of al-Qaeda, al-Nusra Front, and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), 3 different jihadist terror groups. Supposedly, he “cleaned himself up” by becoming more moderate and exchanged jihadi attire for a suit and tie. Yet, a leopard cannot change his spots. Even after becoming the de facto leader of Syria a few months ago, he slaughtered thousands of Alawites and threatened Christians and other undesirables in Syria with death. Why should Syria (under his leadership) be allowed to join the Abraham Accords?

Money talks, and the concern is that Trump is being “bought off” by other Arab nations who require him to invite dangerous actors into the elite group.

Just as concerning is the question of whether or not the Arab countries will be true to their word. Once they get what they want from America, will they turn against Israel, and ultimately against America.

And what about Iran? There is a new nuclear deal on the table. We don’t know yet what’s in the agreement. It was negotiated directly between the US and Iran, with no direct input from Israel. It is Israel, our ally, who has been threatened, and will be threatened again. Plain and simple: if a deal is done, it MUST require Iran to totally dismantle their nuclear program. Any deal short of that is a bad deal. Israel must be allowed to make whatever decision they deem necessary for their survival, and the US should stand with them. No American boots on the ground nor direct engagement in targeting, but rather availability of necessary weapons and fuel support for Israel to do the job it needs to do. For their part, Qatar must put pressure on Iran to give up their nuclear ambitions.

Finally, Trump has also put forward a plan to end the war in Gaza. Kudos to him for being a peacemaker, and exhortation to Netanyahu to get the job done if Hamas refuses the peace plan. Again, if Qatar really wants to be a participant in the Abraham Accords, they must stop funding Hamas and put pressure on them to release the hostages and disarm.

This discussion began with antisemitism, and the Trump administration is about to be tested on that Biblical principle. America must not sacrifice its support of Israel in order to get money deals done. Will the administration remain true to Trump’s previous stance with Israel, or will there be compromise? Will the nations he is courting become valid partners or will they get what they want, then turn their backs on Israel once Trump is out of office?

Let’s hope Trump’s Middle East deals are not deals with the devil. And let’s hope the devil is not rushing through the door of the White House Advisory Board of Lay Leaders. Hey Trump…make America Godly again! We need leaders committed to the One True God, not the god of Islam.
