Hi friends! Good news today…Israelis are realizing the best friends they have are Christians. Not to knock others who may have a heart for Israel despite not knowing the truth of God’s Word, Christians have stepped up in amazing ways to show the love of Jesus to Israel.
A small group of us returned from Israel just about a month ago, and we saw and heard and felt the heaviness that our Jewish friends live with each day. Yet, they are strengthened by so many acts of love, kindness and compassion. We spent only 2 weeks there, serving as the hands and feet of Jesus, and got only a small glimpse of what God is doing there. But it is powerful.
Romans 11 clearly teaches that we as believers and followers of Yeshua (Jesus) are commanded to provoke the Jews to jealousy (verse 11), and it is happening in small ways. There is so much “provoking” to do. But the means of doing so are there and the opportunities are endless.
May I encourage you to consider these things:
- If it is at all possible, GO to Israel. See for yourself!
- Support ministries that truly invest in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are dozens of “ministries” in Israel. Some are fantastic in how they share the life-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Others, not so much. (Still others do nothing but line their pockets in the name of “helping Israel.” Vet carefully before you give, then give as generously as you can.
- Pray! The Bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-9), to be watchmen on the walls for the sake of Israel (Ezekiel 33), and to give God no rest until He makes Israel a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62). If we fail in these commands, what do we say?
Friends, here is an example of loving Israel so that they are provoked to jealousy by that love:
