Happy Sunday, dear friends!
As Israel-loving believers, I bet you have been told something to the effect that the Old Testament is the Jewish portion of the Bible, while the New Testament is the Christian portion. If you “really know your stuff,” perhaps you are of the mind that, “No, actually Christians believe in the WHOLE Bible (Old and New Testament). In fact, one must study the Old to truly understand the New.”
Those are very abbreviated takes on Scripture, but in general, if you hold to the latter, congratulations! You are more correct than not, but there is more! Let’s unpeel another layer of the onion to help us understand God’s design and purpose for His written Word!
Check this out, then tell me what you think of the New Testament!
Fascinatingly true! The entirety (Old and New Testaments) of the Bible were meant for all! Today, we have the advantage of it all being written down. In times past, they had the advantage of watching Jesus, the Living Word, live out God’s written Word before a pen ever touched parchment!
God’s Word is fascinating, and the Living Word who dwells within us is beyond amazing! Aren’t you glad the Word became flesh and dwelt among us!?! (John 1:1-2, 14) That’s what Christmas is all about. Be blessed as you think on these things as we enter this Christmas season!
