Today is Veteran’s Day in America and we owe every American who has put on the uniform our utmost respect and honor. We’ve just been through a very contentious election, and without your sacrifice we would not enjoy the freedom to live in a country where every vote counts.
American Presidents throughout history have honored our heroes. We should echo their respect.
“You have shielded your fellow citizens from danger. You have defended the beliefs of your country and advanced the rights of the downtrodden. You have been the face of hope and mercy in dark places and a force for good in the world.” — George W. Bush
“Whenever the world makes you cynical, whenever you seek true humility and true selflessness, look to a veteran.” — Barack Obama
“Our veterans represent the best of America. You are the very spine of America, not just the backbone. You’re the spine of this country. And all of us—all of us—owe you.” —Joe Biden
"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation." — George Washington
“Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world. A veteran doesn’t have that problem.” — Ronald Reagan
“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.” — Harry Truman
To every veteran: Deep gratitude for your sacrifice. May the God of heaven bless you and your family in full measure! Salute!
