One of the unique joys of visiting Israel is interacting with soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). They are everywhere, and easy to identify in their green military or blue/gray police uniforms. They are generally very personable, engaging, and willing to take photos with you.

But in them, there is something different than any other soldiers in the world. What is it? There is a very deep-rooted understanding of what they are fighting for, and they are fiercely loyal to Israel. They are warriors, unafraid to put their lives on the line to save the one and only homeland for the Jews, and to make it better for their kids.

Recently, I watched this interview of one such warrior. He’s tough and determined, but he is far from unique. IDF soldiers share this trait! Enjoy the interview!
