Kiryat Shmona is a Jewish village in Northern Israel within range and, at times, targeted by Hezbollah rockets from Lebanon. Recently, a rocket hit and significantly damaged the building in which a Messianic congregation meets.
On most days, congregants and Christian volunteers from around the world gather to cook and prepare meals for IDF soldiers in the region. One Friday, soon after those wonderful servants of God finished meal prep and shut down for Shabbat, a rocket slammed into the building. Only hours earlier the building was filled with believers sharing the love of Jesus, but it was totally empty when the rocket struck. Had it been any other day than Shabbat (when things wind down early), the building would have been teeming with servants!
I want you to see and hear the stories firsthand! Check out this Faith Under Fire video:
For believers, it is truly a special time to be in Israel. To bless and comfort the Jewish people is God’s command to us and it takes many forms.
Perhaps you are called to pray. Then pray!
Or maybe you are called to give financially to ministries like One for Israel to help support these efforts. Then give!
You may be called to go there to serve. Then go!
Above all, ask the Lord how you can bless Israel, as Scripture commands!
