Understanding the Signs

Have you ever seen directional signs that make no sense? How about these:

Now, that’s confusing! Aren’t you glad God is not a God of confusion, rather a God who guides us faithfully?

God’s Word gives us examples of how He guides nations and individuals, and often it is through warnings. When warnings were given, judgment usually followed.

  • God warned the people of Noah’s day and they scoffed as Noah built a big boat. Judgment followed.
  • God sent angels to warn against the gross immorality of Sodom and Gomorrah. They failed to respond appropriately and judgment followed.
  • Many times God sent prophets to warn the Israelites against such things as idol worship, but the people were stubborn and went their own way. Judgment followed.

In the church age in which we live, God has given us (the body of Christ) the responsibility to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that repentance is the way to salvation. We are to warn others of coming judgment.

As the day of our redemption draws near, it is more important than ever that we follow our Lord’s command. When people are sick and dying, yet we have the cure, why would we keep it to ourselves? God gave us a mission to distribute spiritual “medicine,” and that is the Gospel of Christ!

Are we faithful to give clear warning of coming judgment, or is our sign confusing?

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ~John 14:6

There’s your sign!
