A Victory for Righteousness!

As you likely know, the Biden administration is on a rampage to destroy children and adults alike with mandates that force religious hospitals and practitioners to perform gender transition procedures against their strongly-held beliefs. It is very troublesome to consider the nation today’s young people will inherit if this reckless evil is not stopped.

Praise God, one circuit court of appeals agrees! Last Friday, the Eight Circuit US Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s decision to block enforcement of the mandate on religious grounds. Praise God for righteous judges and for those who stood up in court and said, “Not on my watch!” (You can read more about it here.) Boy, we need more Christians to stand up against unrighteousness!

Recently, we did a short “signs of the times” series, detailing several Bible-based signs that we are living in what the Bible refers to as the last days. Though we didn’t discuss this point specifically in that series, it is true that when evil reigns man will do what is right in his own eyes (Judges 17:6, Proverbs 12:15, Proverbs 21:2), and will ultimately call evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).

Indeed, a society preparing for the antichrist will begin acting like him. Perhaps that is why Scripture warns to beware, because the spirit of antichrist is already at work.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

~1 John 4:1-3

Friends, just because we live in the times of the signs does not mean we must buckle to them and give up. Our King is mighty and He still reigns. The question is: do we fall in line behind Him and walk in the wisdom of His ways, or do we also do what is right in our own eyes (often with good intention)? I dare say that if every believer was in lockstep with our Commander in Chief, we wouldn’t see evil rearing its ugly head to the degree we do today.

We may be few, but let’s be determined to walk in a manner worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1, Colossians 1:9-12, 1 Thessalonians 2:10-12), and by doing so, exhort others to join us! As the words to an old hymn say:

I may never march in the infantry, ride in the cavalry, shoot the artillery; I may never zoom o’er the enemy, but I’m in the Lord’s army. I’m in the Lord’s army.

Are you in the Lord’s army?
