Exploring Israel – Qumran and Dead Sea Scrolls

We’re diving into a new week of virtual tour with a visit to Qumran, where, in 1947, a Bedouin shepherd tossed a rock into a cave to scare a lamb out of the cave. Instead, he heard the crash of a large pottery jar. It contained an ancient scroll which became the first of many Dead Sea Scrolls that include virtually every book of the Old Testament. It is a fascinating story and a fascinating site.

We’re rounding the corner and the caves are coming into view. Hop off the bus and enjoy your virtual tour/study of Qumran!

Tomorrow we’re off to the desert oasis En Gedi. This is another intriguing site you don’t want to miss! Erev tov! (Good evening!)
