Hi friends! As you know, if you follow this blog, there is emphasis on America’s role in the last days, as we await our Savior’s return. Our nation, like much of the rest of the world, has been hijacked by evil and ungodliness. The Bible warns of that (2 Timothy 3, 2 Thessalonians 2 and many other places), so it should come as no surprise. However, I do not believe it is reason for followers of Jesus Christ to throw up our hands and say, “Well, that’s just how it is and there is nothing we can do about it.”

Instead, Jesus taught in parables that we are to be about His business until He comes again! In Luke 19:11-13, we are told that followers of Jesus thought the Kingdom of God would appear immediately. In response to that exact idea, Jesus told them in a parable to “Do business until I come.” The Kingdom of God will soon appear, so we should take heed! The passage that follows that verse details specific lessons about that, but let’s focus on His command.

How do we “do business?” Of course, it means sharing God’s Word, discipling and teaching others to follow after Him. But, our spiritual life is not lived in a separate box from our “other life!” Whether we are at work, at school, or in the public square, we are ambassadors of the one who appointed us to our place in life! (2 Corinthians 5:20)

In America, we have GOD-GIVEN, inalienable rights. Those are rights that cannot be surrendered or transferred, and they are given by God, not by our government. Therefore, part (though not all) of “doing business” means that we engage our faith in the public square…in government. “We the people” are the head of our Constitutional Republic…not our politicians. They work for us, so who is holding their feet to the fire?

America was built on the rock solid foundation of God’s Word, thus, God gave America greatness. But to whom much is given, much is required, and we seem to have slidden entirely off the foundation. God doesn’t call the ungodly to represent Him. He calls us, His followers, to do His business. One mission we have as American Christians in these last days is to engage our culture in such a way that our faith makes a difference.

That takes many forms. Get involved. Run for school board or other elected office. Show up at school board, city council and other open public meetings to support righteousness and defeat evil. Make your voice heard among your elected officials. (They work for you!) Be aware of current legislation and pray for righteous leadership in federal, state and local government. Vote your values. We can all do this.

How do we make America Godly again? By putting Biblical principles, and one’s commitment to them, first and foremost. I’ll leave you with a great example. In 14 minutes, hear how Lt Governor Mark Robinson of NC “irritates the liberals and makes the devil angry!” (From the 2021 Faith and Freedom Coalition) Watch it to the end…then, let this man’s commitment be an inspiration to be the same, and to elect the same!
