Ok, Bible students, hang on! Do you remember why the Russian-led coalition will one day attack Israel? Hint: It is not to take over, or to wipe Israel off the earth.

Ezekiel 38-39 defines the coalition and details what will happen in that day. Ezekiel 38:12 tells us specifically why the coalition attacks:  to take plunder and to take booty. They are coming after what Israel has, and for decades after Israel’s rebirth, they had nothing to plunder!

But, following the turn of the millennia, low and behold, some of the world’s largest natural gas fields were found in Israeli waters off the Mediterranean Coast! Natural gas is now flowing, and nations lacking resources are clamoring for Israeli gas.

For decades, Russia has been the biggest exporter of natural gas throughout Europe and Asia, to the point where Germany and other European nations have become totally dependent upon it. When Russia invaded Ukraine, many of those nations opposed it, but risked the supply of natural gas being cut off if they dared speak out, much less act out, against Russia.

Enter Israel! The European Union (EU) is now negotiating with a new supplier of natural gas…and that is Israel! (See ‘Stay tuned’ for major announcement on energy.)

So…put two and two together. If a Russian-led coalition is going to invade Israel to plunder and take spoil, then Russia is about to have all the incentive it needs to do so! But keep in mind, it will happen at the Lord’s bidding! Take a close look at a previous verse in Ezekiel 38, verse 4: I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out. Could oil and gas be the hook? Could God be leading Russia out, toward Israel?

Oh dear friends, Jesus may or may not tarry, and the rapture is not dependent upon the Ezekiel 38 invasion. However, when Jesus stands up to defend His chosen land and His chosen people, as Ezekiel 38:18-23 describes, He will do so in order to magnify and sanctify Himself so the whole world will know that He is the Lord! Sounds like end times talk to me!

Indeed, this is all part of the end times, and we are watching yet another piece of the puzzle fall into place as Europe very likely turns to Israel for oil and gas, thus giving Russia great motive to go after that nation who cripples their economy by syphoning away oil and gas profits.
