Is it Biblical for Christians to Stand up for Our Religious Rights and Freedom?

More from the Pray Vote Stand Summit

Have you ever been in a position in which you were doing nothing illegal, yet someone in a position of authority comes along and tells you to stop doing what you’re doing? Many of us have been in those situations, and all of us are going to be in those positions more and more frequently as the days go by and society continues to slide from its moral foundation!

What should we do? Is it right to stand up for our beliefs, for our religious freedom and for our inalienable rights given to us by God? Or, are we to back down before authority because Romans 13:1 explicitly tells us to be subject to the governing authorities? In this regard, how do we occupy till He comes?

This is no flippant matter. There is a ditch on either side of the path we follow, and we need to stay out of both ditches!

This matter was in the spotlight at the recent Pray Vote Stand Summit and addressed by President and CEO of Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), Mike Farris. ADF is one of America’s largest law firms defending religious rights and other Biblical and moral issues. Let’s hear Mike’s answer to questions involving our freedoms, then let’s use our God-given rights and freedoms for the glory of our King!
