Reports are surfacing that Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi will likely step down as Iranian-backed militias take over Baghdad’s green zone (government facilities).

Apparently a senior Iranian-backed commander of a terrorist organization was arrested, then released following pressure from Iran and an apology from Al-Kadhimi.

If true, these developments point to one thing: an Iranian takeover of Iraq. Iranian-supported Shi’ite militias appear to be in control of Iraq and the scant number of American troops there will likely not be enough to hold off the hostile takeover.

Please pray for American troops in harms way, and pray for strong American leadership before we lose all respect, credibility, and positive influence in the Middle East and around the world. On so many fronts, we are seeing the implosion of the greatest democratic republic in the history of the world, and, sadly, it is self-inflicted.

Believers, these are times in which we stand on the promises of God. Earth is not our home and our Savior is soon to redeem us!
