For Zion’s Sake – March 2017

Isaiah 62

For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet,
Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness,
And her salvation like a torch that is burning.
~Isaiah 62:1

The first Wednesday of every month is a designated day to pray for Zion’s sake.  The Isaiah 62 Prayer Initiative is led by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, and is joined by Christians all over the world who life their voices in prayer to fulfill the Bible’s  mandate in Isaiah 62 to pray faithfully and fervently until Jerusalem shines in righteousness.

One of the 12 verses of Isaiah 62 serves as a focus verse each month.  This is March (the third month), therefore, verse 3 is the focus verse for prayer time this month.  Let’s PROCLAIM verse 3:

You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
And a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

Now, let’s PRAISE our Lord:  “Lord, Your crowning gift to us is salvation through Jesus, the Messiah, who was given to us through Your people, Israel.  We praise You.  Encircle us now with Your majesty and with Messiah’s glorious presence!”

Next, PONDER this:  This verse mentions two crowns, two hands and two names of God.  “A crown of glory in the hand of the Lord.”  In Hebrew, this crown is beautifully ornamented, designed to encircle the head of royalty.  The hand is open, signifying power.  It is Yahweh’s hand, the hand of the Eternal One.  “A royal diadem in the hand of your God.”  In Hebrew, this type of crown is actually a cloth that is wrapped around the head, like a turban.  This diadem is in the curved, powerful palm of Elohim, God Almighty.  The Almighty One hears our prayers, and promises that one day His powerful hand shall open, and on display there will be the emblem of His kingdom.  It is none other than Jerusalem – gleaming, embellished and glorious.  Shining with righteousness!  Let Him hear from us now!

Finally, PRAY, using the prayer points furnished by ICEJ’s Isaiah 62 Prayer Initiative.

I encourage you to be get involved with the prayer initiative.  Join a group, or pledge to pray.  As always, if you are in the Phoenix area, you are invited to join us at Calvary Community Church at 6:00pm (first Wednesday of every month) for prayer.

Meet you in the throne room!
