POWERFUL: Jewish Responses to the Jewish Messiah

As we launch Why Israel Matters: Rightly Relating to Our Jewish Roots, we will examine the fact that God called the Jewish people to a very specific role:

…and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
~Genesis 12:3

That blessing is the Messiah…the Jewish Messiah!  Think about it, my friends: everyone on planet earth now has a pathway to salvation!  That is a blessing to all the families of the earth!

But consider: Jesus was not a Christian…He was a Jew!  Yet He invited us (Gentiles) into the family!  Furthermore, “Christians” are Christ-followers (which is why Jesus cannot be a Christian!), and can be Jew or Gentile!

Clear as mud?  Come to the study and we’ll work out all those details.  But for now, I want to focus on the fact that we as Gentiles have been given the most precious gift in all of history through the Jewish people.  Yet, by and large, the Jews themselves don’t recognize the Jewish Messiah.

It is a very difficult thing to understand because many Jews understand who Jesus was and what He did…they are just blinded to the conclusion that Jesus IS the Messiah!  I recently received the following video from a friend and it illustrates the point so well.  In it, believing Jews are sharing Isaiah 53 with unbelieving Jews, and….well…you just have to see the fascinating responses!

We will dive deeply into details of this phenomenon in our study, Why Israel Matters: Rightly Relating to Our Jewish Roots.  I hope you will join us at 9:00am Sunday mornings at Calvary Community Church, Room 209.  (Click here for location and details.)   We begin the study with an introduction today (1/8/2017)…but if you are reading this after the fact, don’t worry. Just jump in next Sunday and you will be right on track!

Meanwhile, please pray for the veil to be lifted so that our Jewish friends see and recognize Jesus as Messiah.  Also, why not share this with others who pray for our Jewish friends.
