God Fulfills His Plan Despite being Rejected

Welcome back to the study table, faithful friends!  Over the past two days we’ve examined The Incomparable Gift.  If you missed those portions of the study, review them here:

God faithfully upholds the promises of the Abrahamic Covenant despite rejection of Him as Messiah.  In fact, the death of Jesus fulfilled a very important purpose of God.

Furthermore, Acts 3:24-26 says this:

And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days. You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ God,having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

Peter looked back to the prophets and patriarchs and linked them to the resurrection of Jesus!  Indeed, the death, burial and resurrection of the Messiah is the blessing to be carried through the generations to all the families of the earth.  Praise God for fulfilling His plan to bring death to His Son, so that life could be poured out to everyone.

Just as the Jews brought Jesus into the world, just as they brought death to Him, so they will bring Him back!  Matthew 23:39 tells us that the Jews will not see Him again until they say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Certainly, that sets the stage for the greatest conflict the world has ever seen!  Satan knows the end will come and he will do whatever it takes to hinder the return of the Lord.  We see it today in the many efforts to eliminate Israel and the Jews.  Those efforts will not succeed because the Word of the Lord stands forever and will not be thwarted.

However, God intended the Jewish people to radiate the light.  To radiate light the Lord intended a holy people to live in a holy land.  Tomorrow we’ll take a look at God’s instructions to Joshua as he brought the people into the Promised Land.  Return to the study table tomorrow as we take a look at that!

Blessings friends!
