“God thunders with His voice wondrously,
Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.
For to the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’
And to the downpour and the rain, ‘Be strong.’”
~Job 37:5-6

The new year arrived with a bang in Israel, as snow fell in the north and rains flooded the south. While Mount Hermon received over 20″ of snow, smaller accumulations were recorded as far south as Bethlehem.
Meteorologists expect a 3 centimeter rise in the water level of the Sea of Galilee, and the Jordan River is expected to swell. In a country short on water supply, that is good news!
But here is more good news: just as surely as God commands the rain and snow to fall on the earth, He does great things which we cannot comprehend!
The Bible tells us that difficult times will come in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1), and we could very well be living in those days. As we start a new year many are expecting challenges and difficulties. Already this year, we see developments such as a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv, a potentially armed standoff in Oregon, and the Saudi embassy in Iran being overrun and set on fire by Iranians. Protests are raging around the world.
But let us not lose heart. Our God reigns, and with His thunderous voice He is able to do what none of us can comprehend. Herein lies our hope:
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
~John 14:1-3
This world is not our home. King Jesus has gone to prepare our home, and soon the Father will send Him to retrieve His kids! Maranatha…Lord come quickly!
