Tonight’s Republican Debate

Republican candidates for president will take the stage tonight in Las Vegas for yet another debate.  CNN will host this debate and it appears coverage will begin at 6:00pm Eastern time.

As Americans, we are privileged to live in a society where we elect our leaders.  For that reason, it is our responsibility to know and understand the positions candidates take on issues important to us.  As Christians, it is our responsibility to evaluate those positions based on sound, Godly, Scriptural basis. Every issue…economic, defense, morality, social…all have Biblical basis, and we are wise to head God’s counsel when determining for whom to vote during public elections.

I encourage you to listen to their comments, delivered recently to the Republican Jewish Coalition.  Beyond that, I encourage you to listen carefully to their statements in tonight’s debate.  Become an informed voter, then VOTE your values.

Our nation is at a crossroads.  Washington cannot save us, but they can certainly drive us more quickly into a dark abyss if Christians don’t take a stand.  Will you commit to be an informed voter…and to vote?  More importantly, will you pray for our country?

2 Chronicles 7:14 is a great model prayer for us:

[If] My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Pray for our land, and pray for our candidates.  Perhaps God is raising up a Josiah!
