Is news flowing out of the Middle East indicating that end time birth pangs are about to flare up again?  Only time will tell, but let’s not be surprised if it occurs.

Within the past few days, news broke indicating that the US has confirmed that Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad did not disclose chemical weapons as required by the deal struck in 2013 when Syria crossed President Obama’s “red line.”  In exchange for relief from US airstrikes, Syria agreed to disclose and turn over all chemicals weapons (which had been used on Assad’s own citizens).  It is becoming soberingly obvious that Assad violated that requirement.

Today, there are rebel groups, including ISIS, coming very close to getting their hands on those chemicals weapons.  What will they do with them, once in their possession?  That is a question being asked by Israel, America and western allies, as well as many opposing Arab nations.

Meanwhile, the Vatican has officially recognized the state of Palestine, giving credence to a terrorist-controlled group whose ambition is to destroy the state of Israel.

On another front, the new Israeli government was sworn in last Thursday, yet is very divided and may not last long.  Combine an unstable Israeli government with an increasingly anti-Israel administration in America, and different types of storms could be on the horizon.

The reality is that the United Nations can’t fix the world’s problems.  The US government can’t fix them.  The Israeli government can’t fix them.  No one on earth can fix them.  Only a sovereign God is capable of making right the wrongs!  We need the grace and mercy of that faithful God.  Believers, you and I have a personal relationship with Him, and He needs to hear from us!  Yes, birth pangs are telling us that the time of the end is near.  But, we have work to do, and we must seek the Lord our God while there is still time.
