ISIS Spouts Off Again, Iranian Nuclear Talks Resume

Hi friends…good to see you!

While our focus has been on Israel’s elections, world events continue to align with what we would expect to see in end time prophecy.  Jesus told His disciples that in the last days there would be false messiahs, wars and rumors of wars, and that nations and kingdoms would rise up against one another.  (Matthew 24:5-8)  We’re seeing and hearing those things today.

ISIS has vowed to blow up the White House, Big Ben, and the Eiffel Tower, and then to capture Paris, Rome, Jerusalem, and numerous other Middle Eastern capitals.  This speaks of the apocalyptic end of the world, according to Sunni theology.  You see, Satan mimics God…and God has provided His prophetic Word to teach us about last days.  Through ISIS, Satan is making up his own version of prophetic events and has captured the hearts and minds of militant Islamic Sunnis to spew the venom of his evil schemes.

On another front, Secretary of State John Kerry has reconvened in Switzerland with other world leaders to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran.  Brandishing their Shia version of eschatology, Iran has continued to state unequivocally that they intend to wipe Israel off the face of the map, then come after the Great Satan (United States).

In fact, Iran is expressing unparalleled optimism about a nuclear deal.  There is a scheduled end-of-March deadline in which to reach a framework agreement.  However, I suspect that the US will either make a bad deal in order to meet the deadline, or they will extend the deadline.  Each deadline extension gives the Iranian regime more time to continue doing what they are doing: enriching uranium with virtually little oversight from anyone, and developing and building new nuclear facilities.

In the words of Benjamin Netanyahu, during his speech to US Congress: “If Iran threatens to walk away from the table, call their bluff.  They need the deal much more than you need the deal!”  Amen!

Though Jesus warned His disciples that these things would come, just as birth pangs precede childbirth, He also gave them great hope.  Recorded in John 14:1-3, 27 are these words from Jesus to His disciples:

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also…. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”

Despite evil in this world, be at peace, my friend!  Jesus’s words are just as real for us today as they were for His disciples in that day.  He has gone to prepare a place for us, but He’s coming again to take us home!  Rest in His peace!
