Like millions of other Americans, I just watched the State of the Union address given by President Obama.  And like many conservatives, I am deeply saddened by his position on many things.

Perhaps most disturbing was the president’s constant reference to America values, while in virtually the same breath praising homosexuality as the right thing, and condoning women’s “right to choose” abortion.  Without repentance, judgment is coming.  God have mercy on our nation.

It is also disheartening to hear the president threaten to veto any bill presented to increase sanctions on Iran.  President Obama continues to believe that negotiations with Iran can be successful.  Iran is driven by radical Islamic theology that demands that all infidels be eliminated.  More than once the Iranian regime has vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the map, and they often identify Israel as “the little Satan” and the US as “the great Satan.”  Iran most certainly has its sights set on destroying both Israel and the United States.  How do you negotiate with a rogue regime, driven by theology that commands you to kill Jews (and ultimately Christians and Americans), and pursuing the goal of establishing a world-wide caliphate?  How do you negotiate with a regime that has not only routinely disallowed nuclear inspections (which they agreed to), but covertly builds nuclear facilities in secretive places in order to hide their nuclear assets and ambitions?  It is simply not possible.

Then, in the speech, there were, of course, the typical promises of questionable initiatives requiring greater government spending…at a time when our nation is facing trillions in debt.  I could go on, but the point is made.  I fear for where our country is headed morally, fiscally, and in foreign policy.  Our nation’s security is also at risk.

Yes, we need new leadership in America.  But more importantly, we need a great awakening.  I continue to pray that God will grant a third great awakening.  Please join me in praying regularly and fervently for revival.  Our ONLY hope is the Blessed Hope…Jesus Christ.  Short of His grace and mercy, I believe we face judgment such as we have never seen.  Please pray, Christian friends!
