Please Take Time to VOTE!

Tuesday, November 4, 2014, is election day in America.  Though we are still 2 years away from the next presidential election, this could prove to be one of the most important elections in American history.  There is no doubt that our country is spiraling downward very quickly:

Believing friends, now is the time to make our voices heard.  True, the problems of society will not be resolved through politics.  However, problems of society will definitely worsen without leaders of strong moral character.  It is not only our right, but our responsibility to VOTE!  Before we do, it is imperative that we know where candidates stand on moral issues.  When you vote, please vote according to your moral compass!

In the state of Arizona, we have a fantastic resource.  The Center for Arizona Policy sends out a questionnaire to all candidates for office, surveying their stance on ethical and moral issues. Then, that information is gathered into an Arizona’s Voter Guide.  Click there and enter your address and you will see who your candidates are and how they responded to the survey.  It is a great way to determine which candidates agree with your stance on those issues, and you can vote accordingly.

Other states have similar resources, so do your research!  Above all, learn where candidates stand, and what ballot initiatives are really about.  Then, VOTE your values!  Here is the reality: typically, far less than 50% of evangelical Christians actually vote.  If we all took our voting privilege seriously and cast our ballots according to our Christian morals and values, every race would be won in a landslide, and we would have leaders dedicated to upholding ethical and moral standards.

Do your part, fellow American believer!  If you have already mailed in your ballot, kudos to you!  If not, get out and VOTE on Tuesday!
