Today, we head to the north…Cesarea Phillipi, Tel Dan, and the Golan Heights. Cesarean Phillipi, in Biblical times, was a very pagan place where many idols, gods, and shines existed and were worshipped. However, it was there that Jesus declared that He would build His house upon the rock. Tel Dan is a beautiful woody area. David wrote several psalms in that area. And of course, the Golan Heights is the much-disputed high ground in northern Israel. From there, we will look into Syria and Lebanon. We will likely see a large Israeli military presence there, as they patrol the area for many reasons! However, one reason is to keep the Syrian civil war on their side of the border!
We will also visit Katzrim, a fully excavated third century city. I’ll try to get some pictures up for you today!
