For years, those who truly study God’s Word and who also engage in the civic arena in America have been sounding the alarm concerning the lack of emphasis on the relationship between Evangelicals, Israel, and America. Biblically speaking the three should be tightly intertwined but, instead, are facing significant challenges in our culture today. Antisemitism on the right, and even in the church, is growing at an unbelievable pace, threatening to blow apart the conservative political camp. Yet few are noticing or are caring enough to confront the issue.
Add in strong conservative, yet antisemitic, voices such as Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, Steve Bannon and others, and you have a strong concoction of confusion on the political right. It is being noticed, and bad actors are aggressively exploiting it. The result: Christians become deceived and fail to stand, while America becomes more radically left.
I recently read the following and, though I don’t know (and don’t endorse) the author, I believe there is eye-opening truth in this statement:
Dugin is the mind behind Putin, and he stands behind the concept of politics as chaos. Over the weekend I finished reading his book Foundations of Geopolitics. In his view, the world is not truly built around ideologies such as democracy or communism. Instead, it is structured around a struggle between great powers and civilizations. On one side are the maritime powers, led by the United States and the Atlantic world. On the other side are the continental powers, with Russia at their center. Russia’s role in this picture is to break American hegemony and create a multipolar world. Make Russia great again!
But the way to achieve this, according to Dugin, is not necessarily through direct war. The United States is almost impossible to defeat militarily. Therefore, the effective strategy is completely different: dismantle it from within. The method is to encourage divisions - racial, cultural, political, and religious. Identify pressure points within society and amplify them until the system begins fighting itself. Create chaos - not random chaos, but managed chaos.
What is particularly interesting is that he also points to very specific targets. One of them is the alliance between evangelical Christianity in the United States and the State of Israel. This is not merely a political position; it is a deep cultural infrastructure within the American right that has existed for decades. If you manage to undermine this from within, you are not just changing foreign policy - you are changing the DNA of an entire political camp.
When you read this, it is hard not to see what is happening today in the United States. A new discourse is developing about Israel within parts of the right. Influencers, podcasts, and youth movements are trying to dismantle this old alliance. Sometimes they may not even realize that they are part of something larger. This is one of the most significant arenas of narrative warfare in the world today.
The State of Israel must enter this arena at the highest possible levels. Because in the end, even very strong countries can weaken if the ideological foundations that sustain their alliances begin to crack. (David Sherez on X)
I don’t know the author, nor do I know his standing with the Lord, but he certainly makes a good point regarding the importance of Israel and the impact on our ideological foundation. I will add that the impact on our theological foundation is equally important.
Thus, believing friends, it is important that we continue to exhort one another to live out Biblical principles in our lives. We don’t get to pick and choose which parts of God’s Word apply. If we are committed to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, then it is imperative that we love what God loves and hate what God hates. Scripture is crystal clear that we are to bless Israel (Genesis 12:3), comfort Israel (Isaiah 40:1), pray for Israel (Psalm 122, Isaiah 62) and be a watchman on the wall (Ezekiel 33).
Be aware of those who wittingly or unwittingly attempt to lead you astray. Stand firm on the Word of God!
