Really proud of our VP JD Vance when it comes to pro-life issues. He keynoted the March for Life in Washington DC a week ago and did a masterful job of speaking up for life, marriage and family.
The annual event seems to sneak by almost unnoticed in the distant western states of the US. However, a reported 100,000 people (one of the largest crowds ever) showed up for the march on January 23. One social media influencer estimated that 80% were under 25 years of age. Kudos to our young people!
VP Vance articulated the reason for the march as well as anyone I’ve heard do it. His 22-minute speech is below, but the meat of it occurs between the 14:00 and 18:30 marks when he focuses on what the administration has done to ward off the efforts of Planned Parenthood, how the US is upholding the sanctity of life around the world, and why we cannot be neutral in this fight. He acknowledged that life is a gift from God and quoted from Psalms. I encourage you to hear that portion, if not the entire speech.
Now, for the call to prayer. Yes, pray for America and our battle against the evils of abortion. But pray also for Israel. Perhaps surprisingly to some, Israel has one of the highest abortion rates in the world. Tel Aviv is a particularly liberal city where social ills are as rampant as in some of America’s otherwise great cities. Young women battle the same abortion demons there as they do in any other country. And let us not forget that evil kings and empires in Israel’s past were notorious for child sacrifices. The burning of babies on the altars of Molech are noted throughout Scripture, as were other child sacrifices. (References)
When it comes to life, please be a prayer warrior in your own country, as well as for those around the world. Children are important to God and He will assuredly hear those prayers.
