Hi friends! Perhaps this seems like an “out of the blue” post, but it’s really not.
Christmastime is a time of miracles. The miracle of the virgin birth…the miracle of God becoming flesh to dwell among us…the miracle of magi following a star…the miracle of salvation wrapped in swaddling clothes.
Jesus and His disciples performed many miracles. Jesus’ first miracle was turning water into wine (John 2), and it was followed by healing miracles such as the blind man in John 9, a lame man in Acts 3, and lepers, paralytics and Peter’s mother in Matthew 8. Jesus fed multitudes with only a few loaves and fish (Matthew 15), calmed the waves (Matthew 8) and walked on the waters (Matthew 14) of the Sea of Galilee.
I suspect many of us can testify to miracles in our own lives. Ways in which the Lord protected us from harm, caused an illness to disappear “without explanation,” or provided for a need in an unexplainable way.
However, some say, “If God can do miracles, why don’t we ever see any?” Here is the answer:
As this Christmas season fades into memory, I pray the miracles of the season remain with you throughout the new year and beyond. Jesus came as a miracle, and He continues to be a miracle-working God.
