Greetings friends! It’s an exciting weekend as we celebrate America’s 249th birthday. So, let’s take one more day to rejoice in the grace God has given us for two and a half centuries.
Over the past few weeks America has regained respect lost due to radical ideology and poor leadership. We have witnessed an overwhelming Israeli-American victory in Iran, peace between African nations who have engaged in murderous war for hundreds of years, the passing of legislation that (though not perfect) will unleash the Trump administration to accomplish big goals and dreams, and potential peace talks between Israel and Hamas.
Not that I deeply trust any agreement Hamas engages in, but perhaps there will be movement in getting some hostages home. We should definitely pray for God’s favor in that endeavor.
But regarding the USA, I am one who believes God is not quite done yet with our nation. The question is: How will we as believers respond to this season of grace? Will our own commitment to our Savior increase? Will we share the Good News of Jesus with others? Will our lives reflect the miracle of salvation?
It is truly amazing to head into America’s 250th year. May it be equally amazing when we look back a year from now to see how our lives have positively impacted others and lured some into the saving grace of Jesus!
That will be worth celebrating!
PS: Happy Birthday today to a dear Kansas friend….you know who you are!
