Revisiting the Tucker Carlson-Ted Cruz Interview: Pastor Jack Hibbs Nails It!

A few days ago, two of America’s conservative icons sat down to discuss a topic in which they held opposing views. Nothing wrong with a strong, meaningful debate. In fact, when done in respect, open debates can be very meaningful as opposing thoughts and ideas give rise to appropriate compromise or new ideas.

But instead, the episode turned into a childish debacle in which Tucker Carlson reveled in pointless “gotcha” moments while Ted Cruz attempted to quote Scripture without a strong grasp of context or reference. We highlighted the schoolboy behavior in a post last week. All-in-all, it was an embarrassment to our political system, and it certainly put Christianity in a bad light as each claimed faith.

On Thursday, Pastor Jack Hibbs addressed the ill-fated exchange and, using Scripture as his guide and grace as his plumb line, he pointed out the fallacies of both men. It is important for our leaders to stand against ungodliness, and for us to engage appropriately in the battle as well. May we all be reminded how important it is to make Scripture our guiding light! This is 45 minutes very well spent.

Great reminder to be faithful in allowing God’s Word to be our guide!
