President Donald Trump nominated perhaps one of the most solid Christian men ever to be US Ambassador to Israel when he selected Mike Huckabee. Then, despite every Democrat opposition vote except PA Senator John Fetterman, Huckabee was confirmed by the US Senate on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Huckabee then hot-footed it to Israel to be there for Passover, and one of his first acts as ambassador was to deliver a hand-written note from President Trump exhorting Americans to pray for the peace of Israel! I’m not sure an American president has ever issued such an exhortation. Huckabee took the note immediately to the Western Wall upon his arrival, prayed, and stuffed the note in a crack in the wall, along with the written prayers of people from around the world.

Mike Huckabee is a true friend of Israel, having taken hundreds of thousands of people there in multiple trips per year for 52 years. He stands solidly with Israel, is very capable of articulating the President’s policies and wishes, and will be a watchman on the wall (Isaiah 62:6) on Israel’s behalf.

Those who stand with Israel are almost always attacked, slandered and berated. As Mike Huckabee takes the mantle, please pray for him and his family. Israel is a tough neighborhood and those who stand with them voluntarily put targets on their backs. May God bless him with superior health, supernatural wisdom, genuine friendship, and the boldness of a lion.
