We live in a world where evil seems to outdo evil every single day:

• Russia and Ukraine targeting and killing millions of innocent civilians.
• Christians and other minorities in Sudan persecuted or killed simply for being minorities.
• Hamas brutally murdering Israelis because they hate them.
• Now, Sunni radicals are killing Alawites in Syria.

Former Syrian president Bashir al-Assad was a brutal dictator who used chemical weapons on his own people. After years of civil war in Syria, al-Assad was overthrown by rebels, led by Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani. Formerly an ISIS/al Qeada commander, Julani presented himself to the world as a moderate before unleashing the latest genocide by overtly pursuing (and killing) Alawites, the Muslim minority sect to which al-Assad belonged. He is no moderate…he’s a cold-blooded killer, trained in the ideology of ISIS and al Qaeda.

Like Hamas, Julani’s Sunni terrorists film their conquests, and social media is filled with footage of their horrific brutality. Entire families are gunned down for no reason. Mothers are forced to watch the shooting execution of their sons. Living bodies are set on fire and burned alive. Children are murdered alongside their parents and grandparents. All simply because they are Alawites.

Where is the outrage? Where is the UN Human Rights Council? Where are the protest mobs in the streets of European capitals (where they protested Israel’s “genocidal attacks” on Gaza)? Where are the world leaders? Why is the media so quiet?

True, Alawites are no “angel tribe.” Bashir al-Assad, an Alawite, was a brutal dictator who committed heinous crimes against his own people. Yet, the overt destruction of innocent human life is wrong no matter who is targeted.

The world seems paralyzed. Is it due to fear? Lack of concern? No idea what to do? Why does the world sit silent and allow evil bullies to murder innocent people?

More importantly, what about Christians? Will we respond any differently? We must know this is a spiritual battle, and it isn’t going to stop. The commander of hell’s armies, Satan, is aware his days are numbered. In an all-out assault on mankind to destroy Christians and to prevent others from entering into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, hells demons are seemingly unleashed. We must stand against the wiles of our enemy.

By the way, in the middle of it all is Israel. The chaos and the havoc ultimately serve to destabilize the Middle East. If Satan could destroy Israel (which he cannot), God and His Word would be nothing more than fairy tales. Biblically-speaking, Israel will be left standing in the end because the Bible tells us God Himself will take His stand with her!

Dear believing friends, we must stand firm. We must stand strong. We must stand on the truth of God’s Word, wearing the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-20) If we expect our own journey ahead to be easy, we are very likely mistaken. However, our Commander in Chief is leading us to victory…a victory that is already won!

Be sure you know Jesus, and be sure you are grounded in His Word. Our victory is won, but we will not realize it unless we put our full faith and trust in our Victor, Jesus Christ! When we do, we will take the stand that no one else seems willing to take.
