The Best Laid Plans….Don’t Always Work!

You know you are over the target when you take incoming fire from the enemy. We must be dead center over the target! There have been multiple hiccups, but nothing like our Friday experience! Launch day for our ON MISSION with God ministry trip to Israel was only a partial launch! I’ll explain…

When those of us flying from Phoenix got to the airport, we were notified that our flight from Denver to Munich was cancelled! At that point, we had another guest flying into Denver from Salt Lake City, and our South African guest was about to board the first leg of her flight!

After about 45 minutes at the check-in counter, we managed to change the Phoenix passengers and the Salt Lake City passenger to flights through Washington Dulles and Frankfurt Germany. The kicker: we can’t leave until the next day! As you read this, it is “the next day,” and we should all be on flights headed to Washington Dulles early this morning! (Saturday)

Those changes left needs for a Denver hotel for one guest and arrangements in Tel Aviv for the other, who will now arrive a full day ahead of the rest of us! (Not to mention the need to change the rental car reservation and our first night at the hostel in which we are to serve at the women’s shelter.)

Now for the real gut punch…the flight from Denver to Munich actually flew. We have no idea why we were told it was cancelled, or why it wasn’t caught as several agents had a hand in helping us rebook flights! We could be almost to our destination by now, but it was not to be! Is it the enemy? Is it God protecting us from worse travel problems? We don’t know! All we know is we are not on that plane!

We are pushing through it, but we need your prayers! We will undoubtedly be weary as we arrive. Will you join us in petitioning the Lord for a smoother day on Saturday than we had on Friday? Our heart is to remain steadfast and loyal to the call God has for us, but we are definitely fighting a battle! At this point, we expect to leave today (Saturday, early-morning) and arrive in Israel mid-afternoon on Sunday.

But, we recall many Biblical examples of God delaying plans for His servants. (Paul, Moses, Daniel, Joseph….) We are in good company!

Thank you, prayer warriors! You never knew what you were recruited into when you chose to go ON MISSION with us, but we are eternally grateful for your prayers!
