Has Israel Reached Their Limit with Iran?

For decades, the Iranian regime has plotted, planned and schemed. Becoming nuclear capable has been an objective for many years, yet the Trump administration put a severe dent in their plans when the US pulled out of the ill-fated JCPOA and implemented devastating economic and diplomatic sanctions against Iran and their leaders.

Yet, driven by Islamic apocalyptic ideology and set free by the Biden administration from crushing sanctions, Iran roared back with a vengeance. Since 2021, Iran’s race toward the bomb has been at frantic pace and billions in released funds flowed to equip terror proxies such as Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and several other smaller terrorist groups. The October 7 massacre was actually intended to be a much bigger and more devastating event, but Hamas jumped the gun, stealing thunder that was to be Hezbollah’s triumphant conquest.

Make no mistake, Iran is squarely behind the reign of terror unleashed upon Israel over the past decades, including the October 7 massacre. Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis are simply useful idiots in service to the Iranian regime. Iran cares nothing about Palestinians, or even Arabs for that matter! Iran is Persian and holds to Shia Islam. They are perfectly content to lose proxy leaders such as Ismail Haniyah and Hassan Nasrallah rather than their own Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC).

But, they do need to save face! Thus, their ill-advised rocket attacks on Israel on April 13 and October 1. The rocket barrages, though totally unsuccessful, were direct attacks on Israel, making retaliatory strikes on Iran justifiable.

Pressured by America not to “overreact” in April, Israel responded with only a minor retaliatory strike in April that signaled Israel’s ability and willingness to strike back with meaningful consequences. Suddenly, though, following a full year of war, and seemingly bolstered in confidence by the extremely successful beeper attack and assassinations of top Hamas and Hezbollah commanders, Israel has thrown off the gloves! Though America still has leverage (withholding munitions), Israel now seems to care little about what America thinks. With great boldness, they destroyed Hezbollah’s leadership and half of their weapons in only a few days. Both PM Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant seem to have the resolve necessary to execute the war until their goals are attained. Let’s pray that resolve remains steadfast!

So, did Iran make a big mistake by firing off almost 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1? Israeli leaders are vowing a harsh response. Could it mean only that Iran’s oil and gas facilities (which are the economic drivers of Iran) will be targeted, or will Israel also go after their nuclear facilities? As usual, the Biden administration is already wrestling to put the handcuffs back on Israel. They don’t want Israel to attack nuclear facilities. In fact, the American administration has an election to win, so they are fishing for a way to sweep this all under the rug so they don’t have to answer for their lack of leadership on the world stage.

As contentious as Israeli politics are, even rival Israeli leaders seem to agree on this:

“Israel has now its greatest opportunity in 50 years, to change the face of the Middle East. We must act now to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, its central energy facilities, and to fatally cripple this terrorist regime. …We have the justification. We have the tools. Now that Hezbollah and Hamas are paralyzed, Iran stands exposed. There are times when history knocks at our door, and we must open it. …This opportunity must not be missed.”
~Naftali Bennett, All Israel News, October 2, 2024

Israel is all in. They are locked and loaded. They have all but guaranteed a harsh response to Iran. Is it time for them to cut off the head of the octopus, even if the Americans withhold needed munitions?

I think so.

  1. Iran has never paid a price for the sheer evil they perpetuate toward Israel, America and, indeed, the world.
  2. By eliminating the entire leadership structures of Hamas and Hezbollah, Israel has put those terror proxies on their heels. Both are far less capable of deflecting attention away from Iran at the moment.
  3. Though battles have been won, the war is yet to come. Hamas and Hezbollah will reconstitute. Striking Iran while the proxy front is weakened and Iran is exposed is the best chance Israel has had to take decisive action against Iran.
  4. Israel has already proven they can effectively reach Iran with their most powerful aircraft and biggest bunker-busting bombs.
  5. No one has ever hit Iran with such great force and they don’t seem to think they are vulnerable to an effective Israeli strike. Time to prove them wrong.
  6. Israel’s military might has been there for years, but now Israel’s resolve and confidence are at an all-time high. Take advantage of that!

During Hitler’s rise to power, the US, Great Britain and others failed to acknowledge the Nazi threat, and we are watching reruns of the same movie today. The powers that be are not only ignoring Iran’s rising power and evil ambitions, but are actually assisting it with the idea of jumping back into a nuclear deal with a nation whose stated goal is to destroy Israel. Will we force the one and only Jewish state to pay the price complacency demands? Moreover, do we really think Israel is Iran’s final and ultimate target?

It’s not…the US is.

For Israel’s sake, America’s sake, and that of the world I say: “Israel, please strike quickly, decisively, and immediately before the window of opportunity closes!” Peace through strength.
