I had the blessed privilege to join Yo’el Berkowitz, his wife Tikvah, and their daughter, Revayah for dinner on Thursday night. What a true privilege it was to spend time hearing firsthand about the mood and mindset in Israel right now, as well as getting to know the Berkowitz family.
I first became familiar with Yo’el as I made my way through Keshet Journey’s Israel Tour Leader video training during COVID. Yo’el was one of many well-respected Israeli guides sharing depths of knowledge and insight about important sights in Israel and their Biblical significance. He also has his own YouTube channel.
At dinner, I learned more of Yo’el’s background and heritage, including his father’s influence in the Messianic community in Israel. A well-respected Bible teacher, Yo’el’s father was instrumental in establishing Israel College of the Bible and helping to grow the Messianic community.
However, Yo’el is a Bible scholar in his own right. His deep interest in reading and studying ancient texts to understand how they speak to various audiences is fascinating. I couldn’t get enough of his passion for deep dives into the Word of God and the impact it could have on believers and non-believers alike.
Here is the good news: Yo’el is scheduled to speak during Saturday night and Sunday morning services at The Heights in Prescott (and Prescott Valley) this weekend! So, you have the opportunity to be drenched in his passion as well! If you are in Arizona and can get to Prescott, I encourage you to attend a service. No one tells the story of Israel like an Israeli tour guide, and no one has better insight into Biblical relevance than a brilliant Israeli Messianic believer! Yo’el is both!
Hope to see you there!
