Olympic Thoughts

So, what do you think of the Olympics so far? I must say, I become less and less impressed every two years when the Olympic committees find new and better ways to be woke.

I remember watching my first Olympics at age 7, which birthed my own Olympic dream. By age 12 I could rattle off every Olympic city in the modern era and my aspirations to play for Team USA were growing by leaps and bounds. Throughout my athletic playing and coaching career nothing deterred me…other than my sport (softball) not becoming an Olympic sport until after my playing prime! Nonetheless, I did have my Olympic experience in Atlanta in 1996 and I will never forget it!

My admiration of athletes who dedicate their lives to wear the red, white, and blue remains to some degree, but my view of the Olympic Games has diminished exponentially over the past 20 years or so. What began as an amateur showcase that promoted peace around the world (at least during the Games) has become a cauldron of spoiled brats who are paid to play those sports, and an opportunity for the International Olympic Committee and NBC to show off their wokeness, berate Christian faith, and promote false narratives.

As a result of radical Islam’s invasion of Europe over the years, we now have cyber-attacks in Paris (transportation system and power outages…so far) attributed to Iran’s influence, antisemitic advertisements on bus stops (see Saturday’s post), and even an athlete executed by their own regime (Iran) for daring to stand up for human rights.

Executed Iranian karate athlete, Mehdi Karami.

On top of that, the opening ceremonies were laced with Satanic symbolism and a blatant offense to Christianity. Drag queens portrayed the Last Supper, representations of alien beings played key parts in the ceremony, and most of the music and symbolism had dark overtones. (Satanic symbolism is nothing new in Olympic or other worldwide events.)

Other offenses include the fact Palestinian athletes (who do not even have a country to represent) are allowed to wear uniforms showing the IDF dropping bombs on children, yet Israeli athletes are not allowed to wear yellow ribbons representing the hostages. (Determined to honor hostages anyway, the Israeli swim team spelled out “Bring them home now” in the pool!) Also, a tweet on The Olympic Games site honored and worshipped Apollo and Zeus…false gods.

You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.
~Exodus 20:5 (NLT)

So, the Olympic movement, once a global effort to bring unity, peace, and goodwill, has become a completely woke movement sold out to antisemitism, idol worship, and Satanism. May God bless the amateur athletes who have genuinely committed their lives’ ambition to represent their countries with appropriate pride and honor. But the movement itself, and those inclined only to personal honor, no longer merit the admiration of those of us they willfully offend.

  1. In my honest view, the Olympic movement continues to deteriorate. With wokeness, hatred towards Israel, and their continued acceptance of wicked forces of the world, the Olympic movement is now at its worst state ever. What will it take to implement serious changes deep within the movement? A change of leadership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)? Reforms of the Olympic charter?

I even attended the 10th edition of the World Sport for All Congress in Rome in late-2004 and back then there was the focus on goodwill between nations through sports, sports science and understanding. Today, wokeness and wickedness infiltrated the Olympic movement. How much times have changed for the worse.
