It is Memorial Day in the US. For Americans, this is the most somber day of the year as we remember every brave warrior who gave his or her life for our freedom. We are not without our problems, but thanks to our hard-fought freedom, there is still no greater place on earth to call home.

Indeed, American men and women in uniform have given their lives for our freedom, and today we remember their sacrifice.

However, there was another sacrifice made for the eternity of our souls. That sacrifice, my friends, was that of Jesus Christ when He gave His life for our sins. Not so ironically, Americans have played a huge role in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, and our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and guardsmen have guaranteed our freedom to do so. Today, as you commemorate our American heroes, be mindful of eternal life that was bought with the sacrifice of Jesus.

Thank you, American heroes…and thank you to all who have lost a loved one in the service of our country. They did not die in vain.
