Heartbroken, but Not Broken

Hi friends! Today I want to illustrate what I have said many times: Israelis are perhaps the most resilient people God ever created! I suppose He had to grant them uncommon resilience to keep them from being ripped apart at every turn. After all, they are hated by most of the world, not because of anything they have done, but because they are chosen and uniquely called by God.

Fleur Hassan Nahoum is Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and a very capable spokesperson when it comes to the idea of resilience. She is able to clearly articulate Israel’s place in the world and deflect the enemy’s darts when slung in the direction of Israel.

Below is an update from yesterday. I was drawn to it because I appreciate the firm steadfastness of Israeli spokesperson Lt Col Jonathan Conricus. But what followed was even more interesting to me. The interview with Nahoum was not only interesting, but reiterated my belief in Israeli resilience.

The entire update is almost 45 minutes long and is interesting if you have the time. However, for our purposes in this post, fast forward to the 34:15 mark and listen to the 2 1/2-minute segment that concludes the interview with Fleur Nassan Nahoum as she responds to this question: “What should the Jewish world’s response be…and the response of everyone who stands with Israel…to the post-October 7 world?”

Sounds very Biblical, doesn’t it! Compare those words to 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (in the header above). God’s Word is being demonstrated by Israelis and we can learn something from it! Never give up…and be determined to win the battle that is before you!
